A powerful brown bear fishing a silver salmon in Alaska.
Every summer, hundreds of brown bears gather on the shores of streams and lakes of Alaska to await the salmon run (fish moving back from the ocean to the rivers for the breeding season). This is their chance to get all the fat they will need for their next five to seven months hibernation. Bears all have their favorite technique, the most successful ones can catch and eat more than 30 salmon per day! This one seems to favor the dash & grab, probably one of the most spectacular when 800 pounds of muscle suddenly spring into action to pin the fish in a big splash of water!
