Little Egret fishing on the mud flats of the Rance River at low tide.
The world's first tidal power station was built in the 60’s in the estuary of the Rance River (Britanny , France). The barrage has caused progressive silting of the Rance ecosystem with significant impact on the flora and fauna in the construction phase. Today, a new ecological equilibrium has been reached and aquatic life is flourishing again. It is home to numerous shorebirds and waders such as this Little Egret.
Second Place, Bird Category at the 2025 Miniature Art Society of Florida Annual International Miniature Art Exhibition.
