With their long legs, narrow chest and slender yet powerful built, gray wolves are born runners. While they typically spend most of their day following trails and patrolling their territory at a low speed lope, they can reach almost 40 mph in short bursts when hunting or playing. Wolves have always fascinated me and with this piece I wanted to capture this explosive final rush with the snow flying everywhere and the pair almost colliding in each other with excitement. The dramatic intensity of the chase can be felt in their eyes fixed on the target and their body tensing for one final effort.
