A rare Amur leopard with her cub in the forest.
Amur leopards live in the Amur River basin (forming the border between the Russian Far East and Northeastern China) where the habitat is a mix of temperate forests, steppe grasslands, and taiga. Amur leopards favor forest and mountainous areas and as a result of the cold climate and snow, are of lighter color and with a longer coat and heavier paws than the other leopard subspecies
