A red fox running in deep snow under a twilight sky.
The red fox has an elongated body and relatively short limbs with a very long fluffy tail (longer than half the body length) used for balance and protection against the cold while sleeping. Red foxes prefer to hunt in the early morning hours before sunrise and late evening. Their very light weight (compared to canine the same size) is a huge advantage when running in deep snow.
