A red panda trying to catch the best bamboo leaves.
The lesser panda or red panda (sometimes called firefox) is a small mammal living in the tempered forests of China and the Himalayas. Although they can eat birds, eggs and berries, their diet is composed mostly of bamboo shoots that they deftly pick by climbing trees and using their "false thumb". Formerly classified with bears and giant pandas, they actually are related with raccoons. Sadly, as with many species today, they are endangered because of poaching and deforestation.
